I know that it may sound repetitive when I continue to say that over and over again in my posts to this blog and on this website, but my reasoning is not so you think I'm a cool guy or because I want you to view me as an ego-centric person.  My intentions with the words I use are very intentional for the SEO of this page.  I know that may sound like a bunch of jibberish to you, but the keywords you use on your blog, website and even advertising will make a huge difference in whether or not your content appears on google, yahoo and msn.

I use keywords like home business mentor and free home business training and free attraction marketing tool and training because I'd like to attract those who are looking for these keywords to my blog.  You may be thinking, that sounds like a very complicated thing to learn Jeremy.  Actually, it's not complicated at all.  I'll be glad to show you how I learned these things, but if you can't wait and want to see the free attraction marketing tool I'm talking about go here:

FREE ATTRACTION MARKETING TOOL

I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars on my education.  I wanted to learn effective ways to generate my own mlm leads, network marketing leads and home business leads for free.  If you are in the home business industry or a competitive mlm or network marketing company you are doing 1 of 2 things.

1. You are buying opt in leads from a company or lead broker.  You could be spending between a few cents and $15 per lead.  You may or may not get signups from these leads, but continue to buy them because you are committed to success.

2. You are advertising your current biz opp in all the free advertising resources and classified sites because you have no advertising budget.  You have seen little and in most cases no success with this technique.  In fact the only people who contact you are the ones who want to pitch you on their buisness.

Welcome to the first edition of home business training.  My name is Jeremy Henderson, home business mentor, and I'll be working with you to help you become successful in your own home business.

A little about me.  I'm a full time work at home dad.  I'm married to my beautiful wife Kate and we have a 4 month old named Caleb.  My wife and I've been married 5 years and have a very awesome relationship.  We both serve the Lord first and then each other next.  Serving the Lord and your spouse is not always the easy thing to do and takes lots of work, but is worth it by a long shot.

My story in regards to my network marketing career is similar to many others with the exception that I never quit and became successful.  I joined my first online income opportunity in April of 2006.  It was a 1up system and was several hundred dollars to join.  This was my first exposure to this industry.  I worked hard and spent money advertising but never made a sale, except for someone I already knew.  I joined another opportunity that was a lot more affordable and had a forced matrix.  I was told repeatedly that all I needed to do was sponsor 2 people and help them do the same and I would be successful.  Big suprise, it didn't work out that way, lol.  I ended up sponsoring over 25 people and never really made much more than the monthly cost.

Things changed for me when I began to study marketing instead of opportunities.  You see, like many, I was looking for the right opportunity instead of the right home business training and mentor.  If you don't possess the skills of marketing, you'll never be successful at any opportunity.  It doens't matter how great the company is or how awesome the payplan may be.  You must know how to market correctly.

So I spent the next 6 months reading and studying everything I could get my hands on.  I read that I needed to generate my own leads.  I ended up paying for a $2000 system that was supposed to help me generate tons and tons of leads at the click of a button.  Turns out the system I paid $2K for was an upfront cost for a system that I had to pay $40 a month to use.  So I plugged in and worked it for 3 months.  I went to the training and did what I was supposed to do.  At the end of the 3 months all I had was a few junky leads and some spam complaints.  I won't say that it was a scam, but I can say it wasn't even worth $40 a month, much less $2000.

So, I'm rambling, I know.  Get to the point, right?  What does it take to succeed in this industry.  For me it boils down to 3 things.

1. Mindset - You must believe the goal you have in mind to acheive.  I don't practice a lot of hocus pocus stuff here, but I do know that if your mindset is not right, you won't acheive your goals.  This is the first place I coach people.

2. Skills - You must learn:  marketing skills, relationship building techniques, phone skills, business ethics, organization, etc...  If you truly treat this industry like a business, you will find that there is a learning curve.  I coach people how to get started and which are the most important skills to develop first, but it's an ongoing learning process.

3. Discipline - You must plan to work and then work your plan on a consistent basis.  You can have the mindset and skills but accomplish nothing.  You must have a plan of action that requires a consistent effort of skill application.  I coach people on the best ways to create an effective plan and then in turn how to put that plan into action.
